Children under 6 travel free of charge and do not require a ticket.

Children aged at least 6 and under 16 travel free with the Swiss Family Card as long as they are travelling with at least one parent who holds a Swiss Travel Pass or a Swiss Half Fare Card. We can issue you with a Swiss Family Card free of charge. Please select the number of children travelling with you on the booking form so that we can issue the Swiss Family Card. The Swiss Family Card is strictly in combination with a parent and child always travelling together. Children who are not travelling with their parent will need to purchase a Child Swiss Travel Pass where the price is 50% discounted of adult pass. For grandparents and other relatives, such as aunts and uncles, the Swiss Family Card is not applicable. The child will need to acquire a separate pass or a valid ticket. Young people under the age of 25 save 30% on the displayed price with the Swiss Travel Pass Youth.

No, there is no discount for senior citizens for the Swiss Travel Pass Flex.

Activate your pass on activateyourpass.com no later than before your trip. Scan the QR code on your purchase receipt to access the activation website – your personal details will be automatically filled in. All necessary information for activating and using your Swiss Travel Pass Flex can be found here.

For each activated travel date, a valid ticket for your trip will be created, which can be accessed at any time via activateyourpass.com.

E-tickets can be presented to the conductors as a printed copy or on mobile devices. Already activated travel dates can be deactivated or changed as many times as needed up to one day before the start of the trip. Once activated, tickets cannot be deactivated or changed on the day of travel.

Trains and buses in Switzerland are included in the pass. However, seat reservations on panoramic trains are not included.Discounted travel on mountain railways (such as cable cars, funicular railways and cogwheel railways) is included. Urban transport (buses, trams) is included in 90 towns and cities. Public boat trips are included, except for special trips.

If you have ordered the Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel Pass Flex or Swiss Half Fare Card, please note that this is a tourist pass and cannot be linked to the SBB app. There is a similar product called SwissPass, which is only valid for Swiss nationals and is not part of the Swiss Travel System offer.

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex covers all journeys on trains, buses and boats – including premium panoramic trains such as the Glacier Express and Bernina Express, to name but a few. The map gives you an overview of the area of validity. Seat reservations are compulsory on most tourist trains and must be booked separately. With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, you also benefit from free admission to over 500 museums.

You can also enjoy discounts of up to 50% on most mountain railways and cable cars, as well as free travel on public transport in over 90 Swiss towns and cities. Please note: With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, services such as free admission to museums, 50% discount on mountain railways and use of local trams and buses in 90 towns and cities are only valid on the days on which the pass is in use (activated).

With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, you benefit from a discount of up to 50% on most mountain railways. You can even travel for free on the Rigi, Stoos and Stanserhorn. E-tickets for your mountain excursions can be ordered directly from our shop.

Seat reservations are required on most panoramic trains. This leads to additional costs (price varies depending on the provider). Travel on panoramic trains is included in the Swiss Travel Pass Flex; you only have to pay for the seat reservation. Reservations can generally be made at the earliest three months before the trip. Only people who are permanently resident outside Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein are entitled to this pass.

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is valid for 3, 4, 6 or 15 non-consecutive days within a month, while the Swiss Travel Pass is valid for 3, 4, 6 or 15 consecutive days. With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, you have more flexibility when choosing the days on which you want to travel. Please note: With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, the integrated museum pass is only valid on the selected travel days. This also applies to mountain excursions: The discount of up to 50% on mountain railways is only valid on the pre-selected travel dates and not for a whole month.
