Children between the ages of 6 and 15 travel free with the Swiss Family Card as long as they are accompanied by at least one parent with a Swiss Travel Pass Flex. The Swiss Family Card is issued automatically and free of charge. If children are accompanied by another person, the Swiss Family Card is not valid and a reduced Swiss Travel Pass Flex for children is required.
Children under 6 travel free of charge and do not require a ticket.

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is not automatically valid and must be activated separately on the selected travel days before the first journey. An activated travel day is valid from midnight to 5 am the following morning. Activate your pass online at activateyourpass.com.

The Swiss Travel Pass Flex can be used on 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 travel days of your choice within one month. The selected travel days must be activated before use and do not have to be consecutive.
The Swiss Travel Pass is automatically valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 consecutive days from the selected start date.
As a rule, no seat reservation is required in the Swiss rail network. With the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, you can enjoy flexible travel. If you still want to reserve a seat, you can view the capacity of your connection in the SBB timetable and make a reservation there if necessary. This is not included in the pass.
Seat reservation is required for panoramic trains. The journey is included in the Swiss Travel Pass Flex. The reservation, however, is not and must be booked separately directly with the relevant railway company:
