The Rigi is open all year round. The cogwheel trains from Vitznau and Arth-Goldau and the cable car from Weggis operate year-round with seasonal timetables, usually every 30 to 60 minutes.
Depending on the railway, inspection or maintenance work may take place, during which individual lines may be temporarily out of service. The valid operating hours and any restrictions can be found in the timetable. The Rigi is largely accessible. The journey from the Vitznau valley station, where low-floor trains are generally used, is particularly convenient. The valley stations at Arth-Goldau and Weggis are also wheelchair-accessible.
At selected mountain stations, such as Rigi Kaltbad and Rigi Kulm, accessible boarding and alighting are available. However, wheelchairs must be registered at least one day in advance so that staff can provide appropriate support.
